In accordance with Article 18, Paragraphs 1 and 3 of the Human Research Act, the central competent authority is required to conduct periodic inspections of review committees and publish the results. Committees that fail to pass the inspection are not permitted to review research proposals. Additionally, as stipulated in Article 5 of the same Act, principal investigators must draft research proposals and obtain approval from an ethics review committee before conducting research.

To protect the rights and interests of research participants, all human research projects conducted in schools and institutions must be submitted to an accredited research ethics review committee that has passed the announced inspection, in compliance with the aforementioned regulations.
